Vascular Medicine

There are many risk factors that may cause vascular diseases. While some are preventable, others are not, such as age, family history and gender. Not all vascular diseases require surgical intervention. The use of certain medications may help prevent or impede the progression of vascular diseases.

Commonly used medications vary from aspirin, which is readily available over the counter, to Plavix, available by prescription only. Cholesterol lowering drugs, available by prescription only, can also help reduce progression of vascular diseases.

For more information on these medications and other ways to beat vascular disease, please talk to our doctors or your primary care physician.
